Dr. Charu Raghavan

Dr. Charu Raghavan

Dr. Charu Raghavan is a clinical neuropsychologist with 14 years of work experience involving clinical practice and research, in India and United Kingdom. She specialises in cognitive assessments and rehabilitation for people suffering from neurological injuries such as stroke, dementia, epilepsy and traumatic brain injury. At SHB, she volunteers with the senior citizen wellness outreach to build awareness and conduct initial screening tests for attention, memory etc. and provides guidance on the process of medical testing and how to take it forward with a neurologist or geriatric physician.

Hema Wagh

Hema Wagh

Hemaji is an inspiration for us at SHB. She looks after the admin, the workshop registrations and is a lively spirit around the office. She is a veteran volunteer and has been with SHB since inception. Hemaji is a compassionate soul and is often a "listening post" for all of us here at SHB and also a part of our 'Listening Post' and 'Senior Citizen Wellness' teams now. She often disappears to visit her grandchildren in Singapore, but when she is here, she comes in to work on Mondays.

Janaki Visvanath

Janaki Visvanath

Janaki is a professional coach and mentor. Her primary interests are in community development and believes in taking her HR skills to the Social Sector. Janaki is a Director in SHB Social Foundation and is a founding member of Listening Post. She’s also our primary resource person for senior citizen wellness and LGBTQ issues.

Ranjani Patil

Ranjani Patil

Ranjani is a professional French and German translator. She is also a yoga enthusiast. She brings her spiritual healing energy to the conversation that helps people heal. She finds being able to offer emotional space at Listening Post and Senior Citizen Wellness to be a very rewarding life experience.

Saira Sikand

Saira Sikand

Saira has made a career out of volunteering. Having spent her initial years with CRY, she has been closely associated with setting up "Sunshine" a play space within the premises of the paediatric ward of Sassoon Hospital. Saira is a good organizer, excellent fundraiser and a good networker amongst NGOs. Saira has been with us since inception and is a huge contributor of ideas and best practices. She volunteers with us once a week, on Mondays helping us manage administrative details. She is now a trained listener and has offered those skills as we work with senior citizens.

Sonal Naik

Sonal Naik

Sonal is a teacher and a trained school psychologist. She loves meeting new people to observe and learn about their lives and backgrounds. She believes in always learning from the opportunities that life offers. She loves cooking, watching movies and spending time with her family. Sonal thrives on challenges and constantly sets goals which act as a steady source of her motivation and learning. Trustworthiness, enthusiasm and optimism are her strengths.
