Forest Healing Walk at Pune University

*Healing with Nature – a gentle Forest Healing walk that supports well being through sensory immersion in a naturally healing environment*

In today’s busy world, our senses are often overloaded with information, and we rarely take time to pause, slow down and connect with nature and ourselves.

Forest Healing, inspired by the age old Japanese tradition of Shinrin-yoku ie “forest bathing”, is based on the belief that there are calming, rejuvenating and restorative benefits to be achieved by spending time in nature. Scientifically-proven benefits of forest healing include boosted immune system functioning, reduced blood pressure and stress, improved mood and ability to focus amongst several others.

This event will be a facilitated 1.5 hour nature walk consisting of grounding practices and activities that connect us to our environment through our senses; followed by personal reflection and group sharing around nature and its relationship with our mental health and wellness.

The walk will be facilitated by our facilitator, Tanya Ginwala, a clinical psychologist and narrative therapy practitioner. With Nature as her co-therapist, she enjoys facilitating therapeutic outdoor adventure experiences for people to experience and know themselves in ways that open up new possibilities in their lives.
